Does weight lifting make you not grow as much as you would have?

Well, my question is..

Does weight lifting, NOT power lifting make your not grow as much as your originally should have? Many people say yes it does affect your growth others say no it does not effect your growth. So which one is true?

1. Its rubbish, lifting weights has no bearing on your natural growth other than an increase in mussel mass as a result.
