Do you have to change your Weight lifting routine to not get muscle plateau?

I have been weight lifting for 3 and a half months doing the same exercises. Do I have to change my routine to not plateau or can I keep my same routine?

1. You can keep the same routine, just increase the weights and the time spent weight lifting. Your body won't increase muscles if you don't need them. The more muscle you want, the longer and heavier you have to life on a regular basis.

However changing your workout will allow you to work different muscles to different degrees. No single routine can work all muscles to their limits.

Just don't hurt yourself. People who lift heavy weights two hours a day will end up over stressing their heart muscle. At some point more muscle means a shorter life.
