What weight lifting workouts will help my power hitting/ long ball?

1. to maximize your power...you need to use both your lower and upper body.

for upper body...any weight training for your arms is good. when i played in HS and college...we had a weight tied to a handle bar. With your hands...turn the bar so that the rope starts wrapping around it until the weight comes all the way up and then lower it back down. Great for forearms!

Lower body...squats are the best.

2. clean and jerk...it takes explosive power to do it and thats what you want when you hit the ball.

3. work on your hands and forearms........

4. Being a former player, not MLB, we always focused on forearms. Look at the big boppers today and look at the size of their forearms. It's not your biceps when you hit. You also need to work on your wrists. They need to be quick and strong when they connect with the ball.

I would suggest wrist and forearm curls.

5. You'll need to increase your hand/arm/shoulder strength and your core (abs, lower back, etc...)
