Weight Lifting?

Hey im 17yrs old 5'9" 230lbs. I started lifting in May and i was 280lbs. The last 3 weeks i stayed the same weight. I added in 2 miles of running 5 times a week 2 weeks ago and i still vary from 228-230. I use to lift heavy weights light reps. Now my goal is to be 180lbs cut, ripped, and defined. Im going to keep on running but should i now switch from lifting heavy weights and turn to lifting lighter ones to get my body out of its plateau and burn more fat?

1. no i don't think so,if you lower the weights then you can lose your muscle strength. Keep to the weight of your weights if you want to keep fit and lose weight. or even go higher to build muscle if you want it.

hope it helps
