Women weight training?

If i have been working out (weight training) with 5 lbs, 8 lbs, and 10 lbs for about 7 months.. Should i started adding more weight? I know that you are supposed to change because if not your body gets accustomed and isnt working out. What should i start using 8, 10, and 12 lbs? Isnt that too much for a women?

1. if the weight doesnt burn before the 10th rep, increase it.
thats the golden rule for weight training.

I up the weight when i can get to the 7th rep but my goals are different than most.
