A question about weight lifting routines?

This is just an EXAMPLE. Is it okay to have a weight lifting routine that looks like this:

Monday - Arms
Tuesday - Legs
Wednesday - Chest & Stomach
Thursday - Back
Friday - Starting back at Arms

OR would it be better to have a full days rest between sessions despite what muscle group you are working OR would it be better to do a full body work out and leave a couple of days rest and do another full body work out.

Your thoughts please. Even show me your routines. Don't get really specific. Just what excercises you do on what day and for how many sets/reps.

Many Thanks.
Basically what I wan't to achieve from working out is to lose a bit more body fat and gain enough muscle so that it's evident that I actually work out. I don't want to be massive.

I try to run about 2 miles every other day and at the moment I'm lifting weights about every 3 days.

1. the idea behind full body work outs is that normally they are some type of cardio and people like to do them because they don't have the time to visit the gym every day. Swimming running etc. When you are lifting weights you are specifically targeting a particular muscle group. I would say that weightlifting by muscle group is better than a full body work out but it depends on the results you want. Do you want stronger muscles or do you want to burn fat. Best of luck and keep up the good work
