How do you balance weight lifting and running?
I weight lift one day, but I am concerned that if I run the next day, I will destroy the work that I put in with weight lifting. I am sore when I run. What should I do? How
1. How long should I be jogging? I jog usually for an hour.

1. Depends what your goals are:
Your routine sounds pretty good. If you're trying to gain muscles, cut back the running to 30 mins and eat heaps of good healthy food.
If just staying in shape, or losing weight - keep doing what your doing. You'll be well toned in no time.
2. Don't jog unless you actually need to jog for some reason, such as the military. Instead do sprints.
I had some good sources on this, but the links don't work anymore. However, I can quote lv_consultant (Top Yahoo Diet and Fitness contributor of a few years ago ) http://answers.yahoo.com/activity?show=5cc93dc15af56e8f47884e200463a48eaa
"long distance running is counter productive to muscle building as it has a negative effect on testosterone levels and increases cortisol levels."
"stick to high intensity interval training for cardio, it's actually anabolic and can aid in muscle growth. you only need to do HIIT 3x a week"
"perform 10 reps of either 100m or 200m sprints 2-3x a week. it takes about 20 minutes to warm up run the sprints then cool down and stretch."
You can do sprints the same day as lifting or on off-days. Allow at least 4-6 hours between strength training and sprints.
