Which weight lifting equipment is best?
Hi, first post be kind...
I work from home and have space for some better gym equipment. I dont have huge amounts of space around 2metres squared max!
I've been looking for ages to try get the best items, have seen the following, just wanted to know peoples thoughts and experiences please.
The marcy power 10 rack

Or an Image Pro II

Marcy seems to have everything Id need, Im not lifting huge amounts at the moment as im limited with the rubbish i currently use.
The image Pro is cheaper but without the 100kg weight stack, preacher pad and the leg curl bench attachments...
Anyone able to help me out? Or point me to some other great deals.
Thanks.

1. I would recommend something similar to the marcy power rack but slightly better. Check out the RSM-625WS Smith-Half Cage. I think this gives you more solid equipment with a more stable foundation which will allow you to perform more full-body exercises. The bench, the frame and the attachments for the marcy power rack look relatively flimsy and seem un-stable. If I could only own one piece of equipment I would choose this Smith machine and I would perform the following exercises to hit all major body parts:
Legs: squats, calf raises, lunges
Chest & Shoulders: bench press (at all different angles: flat, incline, decline), military shoulder press, barbell shrugs
Back/Biceps: pull-ups (all versions: front-hand grip, reverse-hand grip, side-hand grip), barbell curls, reverse barbell curls for forearms
Triceps: overhead press, close-grip bench press
Remember to perform these exercises with varying angles & grips to maximize results and break through plateaus.
