what are the best weight lifting supplements to take that actually work and aren't dangerous?

1. There are some dietary supplements you could use. When you say actually work...I'm not sure what you mean. What supplements give you energy during work outs or what supplements help your muscles recover and grow?

I prefer using protein powder and l-glutamine. The protein helps heal your muscle from a workout and the l-glutamine which also aids in recovery. I would recommend just the protein powder because it already has some glutamine in it...you're not going to need more glutamine b/c i don't think you will be working out that intensely.

2. I like using Hydroxy-cut w/ no caffeine. You have to use it consistently (8 weeks then stop) or it loses is effect.
It helps me shed extra pounds quickly but not always permanently so of course you'll want to stick to a physician approved diet and exercise program.

3. go to bodybuilding.com.they have loads of supplements.lots of info, too

4. Supplements would be dangerous only if you take too much. Having a protein shake after work-out should be OK. Taking too often may upset normal protein synthesis, setting the stage for nutritional imbalances.

5. try Ripped Fuel by Twin Lab
