Weight lifting supplements I need some help!!?

So, I use to lift a lot more and had a pretty great routine. I was taking BSN products including: Cell mass, syntha-6, tru mass and nanox9 (The only non BSN product). Anyway I'm trying to get back into weight lifting and I have just read about this stuff called Beta-Alanine. I read it was better than creatine but honestly nobody has a lot of information on it. I would just like to know if I should stick to my old supplements or maybe try something else? does anybody with experience have any good advice? Oh yeah I broke my right arm and had to have surgery on my shoulder so i'm slowly working my way back into it.

1. Protein shakes are the best way to go, other supplements can be unhealthy.
