what are some names of weight lifting equipment? i have to write a two page paper on weight lifting for my P.E. class but i don't know any names of the equipment aside from dumbbells and barbells. aha. anyway, any names of equipment you could give would be amazing! thanks

what weight lifting equipment should I buy? I'm a 14 year old boy and im on my highschools wrestling teams. I weigh from 98-102 and i'm 5'4. My abs are really starting to get toned but my arms are really scrawny.I really need to be strong to succeed in wrestling. Push- ups havn't worked for me. weight lifting equipment question? I have been lifting weights to build up strength in my arms as my Doctor suggested. Since last yule season under a Doctors care I have lost nearly 100 pounds. But I am having a problem now with my wrists. I am 50 and face it my joints aren't what they use to be. Would a sporting goods store have some type of support band or such for this type of thing? Are there any other types of equipment I should have to support my other joints? I walk or ride a stationary bike 30 minutes to 2 hours a day depending on how much extra time I have. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
cheap weight lifting equipment??plz answer!? I am looking for a cheap weight lifting equipment that meets what i am looking for. i want one that you start at your shoulders and move the bar-thing towards your chest. im not sure how to really describe that...sorrry! i also want one where you start at the top of your reach(you are sitting down on the bench, on your butt) you will then pull the bar down towards your chest. im super sorry i cant explain this as well. im looking for equipment that is cheap yet the kind i want-i want both of these on the same quipment. i have a different equipment yet i would much rather prefer this. i alos want to find this at a pretty well known store...such as wal-mart,target,ect... maybe sears...idk maybe even ebay. plz answer this and plz tell me if you have what im looking for and where you got it/price. thanks!!!
Is it true tall people cant do weight lifting as well as small people? The other day my friend came round and was checking out my weight lifting equipment. I asked if he wanted to try them out and he said that it would be harder for him since he's taller than me (I'm 5'7, he's roughly 6'3) He then went on to explain that small people are the only people to really do bodybuilding since they don't have to lift the weights as far and their muscles are closer together and so are easier to use. Is this true?
weight lifting equipment.....I need to sell approx. 400#s of free weights how much should I ask? standard (not olympic steel plates) I have 2 50# plates, 6 25#plates the rest are 10's, 5's 21/2's there are 3 or 4 bars all with collers at least one pair of bumbells and a heavy duty welded (no tubular stuff) bench. there is a 4 inch tear in the pillow top of bench. the bench has a padded curling attachment. All plates are rust free cleaned and painted black. I am going to put them on the bulletin board at work..what is a reasonable price to ask???
Help me figure out a weight lifting routine with my equipment.? I have limited equipment and would like to know the best workout to tone my arms. All I have at the moment is 2 dumbells that let you put the weight amount on, a curling bar, two 5 pound weights and four 10 pound weights. I know it aint much, but for now it will have to do. Can anyone help me in setting up a program for maximum effect and quick results? Also, are there any supplements I can take to help build up my muscles? and which would be the best for a casual lifter like myself? Forgot that I have four 5 pound weights, not two.
weight lifting equipment questions? i have 140 lbs in weights including the bar and all the weights have a 1" hole in them for the bar, but the bar is only 20lbs. I want a heavier bar but i dont know if they make a 45 or 50lbs bar thats is only 1" kus the only ones ive see that weight that much has those huge ends like the golds gym bars have. so do they make heavy bars that are 1" and where can i find them. what do i look up to find them on the internet thanks alot

weight lifting equipment help!! what is this thing called?? what is that little metal thing called that you slide onto the end of the bar after you put your weights on? what im talking about is like, a smith machine or squat rack. or a bench press.. after you slide your weights into the bar, which you lift you slide on a little metal spring like piece to make sure the weights don't fit off.. what is that thing called?
Is there an alternative to working out with weight lifting equipments? Hi. I want to do some weight lifting (I'm 15 years old). I just don't have the equipment, and I was wondering if there were any other way that I could get the full effect of lifting weights with the equipment without actually using them. For example, could I stuff my backpack until it's heavy enough, then lay down with my back against the floor and lift my backpack above me using both of my arms and still get the full (or very good) effect? Are there any good suggestions or anything? This is pretty new to me so please do not hesitate to answer!

Need help with weight lifting routine? I have pretty much figured out the routine while I am home, the problem is that I work on a boat 2 weeks out of the month and there is no weight equipment on there. They do have a Nordic Trac, Total Gym (the Chuck Norris version) and an Ab lounge. What should I do about lifting on the boat? Should I just stick with Pull ups, Sit ups and Push ups or is there a better way to see results? Any help would be appreciated. Thank-You
Lifting weights without equipment? For lifting weights would I be able to put a load of heavy things into my backpack, then lay down (back against the floor) and then lift the weights with both of my arms? Y'know, kind of like a substitution for not having equipment. And if this works will I get the full effect, as if I really did have the equipment? Suggestions would also be nice. :)
How do I start weight lifting with the best results? I'm going to get a gym membership this summer and I need some guidance on how to gain muscle, what areas to work out, how to use equipment, etc. I'm 17 and I'm about 5'10" tall and very light at around 126 lbs. Cheap weight lifting equipment? Need advice? Okay so this Summer, I was very fortunate enough to get a free gym membership trial thing at a local gym. I am not so sure that I will be lucky enough next summer after coming back from college. What are some cheap (creative) equipment that a COLLEGE student will be able to afford to have at home? Is a weight vest a good investment? So far, I have Perfect Pushups, a pair of 20lb dumbbells, and a pullup bar at my disposal...as well as P90x videos. What workout can I do without any weight lifting equipment? Now that it's summer, and I just graduated high school, I have nothing to do, until I get a job. I want to workout and get bigger. I can't afford a gym membership, and can only workout in my place. All I have is a ez curl bar, two 5lb plates, and two 25lb plates. What workouts can I do with just that. Weight lifting for a wide receiver? im 14 5'5 120 lbs wide receiver, i want to do weight lifting but im not sure what do to help me as a receiver i always do situps pushups lunges knee high back peddles and any other excersise that does require weights or equipment but its to easy now it that im not gunna get any further on that so what can i do to improve speed mostly and also is it to soon to lift weights? any other advice for wr is also great always lookin to improve to be the best!
